EMAILACS is the leader in the mortgage imaging industry and currently processes documents for five of the top ten largest mortgage companies in the United States. ACS has over 1,300 team members devoted to providing mortgage document imaging services to these clients. In addition to mortgage imaging services, ACS provides audit processing and review, legal description text extraction via US-based and offshore processes and provides electronic final document recordation.
Our value and expertise lies not only in large scale imaging, but also in systems operation. ACS is the world's largest Application Service Provider (ASP) for FileNET Corporation imaging systems. We maintain and operate ACS Stored Information and Retrieval (SIR) systems and client FileNET systems along with their corresponding databases on secure ACS premises. We currently operate and maintain 15 FileNET systems for our clients which collectively drive over 50 FileNET jukeboxes. Our clients transparently access hosted images from our facilities via dedicated telecommunication lines and internet.
ACS has aggressively added staff with operational experience in the mortgage industry, and our goal is to continue to add resources with subject matter expertise. Many of our management personnel have over 25 years experience dealing with mortgage operations and systems. Our team members can integrate quickly with your operational team as they share common experiences and well understand the business and technical issues that our mortgage clients face.
Many consumer lending institutions are feeling the backlash of the subprime lending fallout—more than any, of course, is the mortgage refinance market. Statistics confirm that the drop in mortgage business has been steeper this year than last year, and that the refinance market has been hit harder than the purchase market.
Some mortgage associations are offering “career transition workshops” for those “affected by the rash of corporate closings”.
The industry is in a back-to-basics environment. Mortgage originators have been tasked with stepping up professionalism and ethical standards in dealing with clients. Some states are considering laws that will require mortgage loan officers to register with the state.
ACS provides fully diversified, end-to-end mortgage services. We have the skills, capabilities, and resources to deliver BPO services to support as many functions as required. ACS provides the following services for the mortgage industry:

ACS has developed an in-depth understanding of the critical business issues involved in scanning millions of mortgage documents per month, capturing data from those documents and committing them to imaging platforms. Our clients receive, at a minimum:
- Reduced cost
- Enhanced operating efficiencies
- Improved turn-around times
- High quality data accuracy
- Foundation to re-engineer business processes
- Headcount (FTE) Cost Reduction
- Storage and Retrieval: Immediate impact from the capture and availability of document images is realized in the areas that deal directly with the physical storage of these files. A number of FTEs are required to manage requests for documents that have been moved to storage.
- File Movement between Work Areas: Implementing workflow tools that move documents between asynchronous processes virtually, via image. The movement of physical files from desk to desk requires labor, space and equipment.
- Creative Alternatives to Internal Processing: Document images may be utilized to implement third party alternatives to traditional internal processing. Functions such as Lien Release, Tax Servicing, and New Loan Setup may be outsourced by providing electronic files for processing. Offshore resources may be deployed to provide reduced labor costs for data capture and other areas.
- Enterprise Inventory: A centralized, enterprise-wide inventory system provides the key to efficient document management. The ability to track documents both physically and virtually provides for control and efficiency through automated tools. An enterprise-wide system provides a single entry point to all document management tools.
